Finally shut off your workday—mentally and emotionally, not just physically
Stop carrying the stress, thoughts, and weight of work into your personal life
Create a simple daily rhythm that signals your body it’s safe to rest
This is not a routine. It’s a reset for your nervous system.
The Power Down Practice is a simple, trauma-informed rhythm designed to help you transition out of work mode—on purpose. Because right now? You’re carrying the day home with you. The thoughts. The stress. The emotional weight. And your body never gets the signal that it’s safe to rest. This practice helps you: ✔ Close the mental and emotional loops from your day ✔ Physically shift out of “go mode” ✔ Regulate your nervous system without screens or productivity ✔ Give yourself permission to rest—without guilt. In just 10–15 minutes a day, you create a clear boundary between your work and your life. And for the first time in a long time… 👉 your body can actually exhale. 🔥 WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY DO Each day, you’ll follow a simple 4-step rhythm: 1. Close the Loop End your day with intention—not unfinished thoughts. 2. Move the Body Signal the transition physically, not just mentally. 3. Regulate Step out of productivity and into presence. 4. Permission Release the belief that rest must be earned. 💥 THE WEEKLY RESET At the end of your week, you’ll walk through a guided release process to: ✔ Let go of what you’re carrying ✔ Acknowledge what you did well ✔ Clear mental clutter ✔ Reset your energy before the next week begins
Meet Dr. Nichole J. Brown
I'm Dr. Nichole J. Brown, the creator of the Power Down Practice . As an educator, I understand the challenges of maintaining well-being in a demanding profession. I'm thrilled to share my knowledge and help you prioritize self-care to thrive in your role. Join me on this transformative journey towards a healthier work-life balance. As a former classroom teacher, and a current leader in higher education and educator preparation, Dr. Brown has experienced firsthand the unrealistic demands placed on educators—and the personal toll of systems that were never designed with educator well-being in mind. That lived experience, paired with over 15 years of educational leadership and specialized training in wellness, SEL, restorative practices, trauma-aware leadership, and racial healing, informs every framework she creates. Her work bridges research, lived experience, and systems design to address educator burnout, compassion fatigue, and attrition at the root. Rather than asking educators to simply cope within broken systems, she focuses on building structures that support sustainability, alignment, and long-term well-being. She created The Next Level Educator to support teachers, leaders, and changemakers through restorative wellness, intentional alignment, and healing-centered leadership practices. Through signature frameworks—The Well, The Exit Strategy, The Collective, and H.E.A.R.T. Work—she guides educators in reclaiming purpose, building resilience, and sustaining meaningful, impactful careers. She believes educators deserve more than survival. They deserve to thrive. Education is a sacred ecosystem—and when educators are whole, everything changes. Together, we learn to pause with intention, listen with grace, and rise with courage. Teaching, leading, and being should be H.E.A.R.T. work—not hard work. — Dr. Nichole J. Brown Your Next Level begins with your well-being. — Dr. Nichole J. Brown Dr. Nichole J.
